HOW IT ALL WORKS

HOW DOES NAPRALIEF® WORK?

The active ingredient in Napralief® is naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for many years in the treatment of mild-to-moderate pain.1,2,4

Since Naproxen is broken down in the body more slowly than ibuprofen, it can have a longer lasting effect on pain relief - making all day pain relief a possibility.1,3,4,5,6

DID YOU KNOW?

Naproxen is broken down in the body more slowly than ibuprofen!1,3,4,6

The analogy below shows how Napralief works to reduce pain and inflammation:

forest

Imagine your body is like a forest, and pain and inflammation are like a wildfire that breaks out when something goes wrong – like an injury or infection.

fire

When tissue is damaged, your body sends out chemical signals (like prostaglandins7), that cause swelling, redness, heat, and pain – just like a fire spreading through dry brush.

rescue

NSAIDs (like Napralief®) are like firefighters who rush in to help stop the fire (pain) at its source. They do this by blocking the enzymes that produce the prostaglandins.1,8

team-work

This helps reduce the flames (inflammation) and help put out the fire (pain relief).
